Whether you just can't get enough summer ultimate, or you're a new player that's never been to a tournament, the Summer Solstice Hat Tourney is for you! The tournament will be held at the Cumberland Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 13. Everyone who signs up will be randomly placed on a team, and you are guaranteed at least 4 games. There will be water coolers and score-cards at every field, and a deluxe early afternoon BBQ provided: all for just $15! We are shooting for 8 teams of 15, so spots will be limited! Again, all abilities welcome. Proceeds go to the Climb for Cancer Care. Stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks... The Summer Solstice Hat Tourney went down this Saturday with over 100 players from Portland and all around New England. The weather was beautiful, and the competition was great! There were layout bids, huge skies, and hucks galore as each of 8 teams tried to survive to the finals. Team 1 (Jason Quint, Danny Agne, Tim Glover, Lewis Seton, Frank Glover, Ben Wake, Mike Hipps, Lani Bensheimer, Jes Heil, Aylie Baker, Erin McCall) was impressive all day, going 6-0 to win the tournament. Team 6 was also very solid, putting up a great fight in the finals. Thanks to everyone for coming out and making the tournament a great success and supporting the Climb for Cancer Care!
